A Recipe for Innovation

Who said that one needs to be an Einstein to innovate? (Ok, being born as one definitely helps!) I believe that innovation can be turned into a practice. Just look at the companies that come up with hundreds of innovations (transistor, LASER, UNIX, C, .. from Bell Labs, iEverything from Apple, gManyThings from Google, etc.). It can't all be about the genes!

Question: Can you take a normal homesapien and turn them into an awesome innovator? May be it's yourself, your children, or your colleagues.

Answer: A resounding Yes!

Thanks to all the work done by folks like Edward de Bono and the lessons from countless ventures, Innovation can indeed be turned into a recipe for the most part. In a series of articles to come, I'll cover the steps of innovation and thinking up new ideas. For now, I'll just point you to an overview presentation on innovation.

Caveat: One can turn a recipe for a souffle into a black pudding or a masterpiece. It all depends on the recipe, the ingredients, and the cook. More than anything, it takes lots of practice!

So, just innov8!
